Olivia is a trainee journalist studying MA news journalism at Nottingham Trent University. She moved to Nottingham in 2019 to begin her studies at the University of Nottingham, and she has gained a love for the city over the years as well as her English degree. She loves the vibrant student atmosphere of the area and enjoys visiting different places and trying the fantastic food that Nottingham has to offer. Her favourite spot has to be the highly regarded tapas restaurant Bar Iberico. She has experience in local news and is especially passionate about feature writing and telling the stories of people who often go unheard. She likes speaking to new people and learning about different experiences and cultures. Olivia has also worked in student radio, co presenting a breakfast show on FlyLive which allowed her to show off one of her many talents- talking! One of her favourite pieces she has published is a Gedling Eye article on the female football club Arnold Eagles as it celebrated a local community and highlighted the importance of women in sport. She is excited to continue to celebrate the achievements of local groups and individuals and produce positive news for Nottingham. She really enjoys writing lifestyle content, reviews as well as covering local news and has done so for publications including MyLondon, HertsLive and Gedling Eye. Outside of journalism, Olivia spends a lot of her free time dancing, going to the gym and with her friends.
