Kelan is currently a trainee journalist studying at the University of Sheffield. Before his postgraduate studies, Kelan studied English Language and Literature at the University of Leeds. Since an early age, he has had a keen interest in the written form and has been an avid reader - his favourite books range from Motherless Brooklyn by Jonathan Lethem to The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien. This love for the written form has translated to a love for journalism, and specifically, sports journalism. Whilst studying an MA in Journalism, Kelan has enjoyed the more human-focussed stories. That's where his fondness for Nottingham also stems from, Nottingham having such a rich footballing history with icons such as Brian Clough originating from the city. Likewise, during his undergraduate studies, Nottingham was often a frequented location to visit friends who were studying nearby or to see a gig in a city that has a vibrant arts scene. Kelan also enjoys running and travelling alongside keen interests in music and football, with Kelan's favourite travel destinations being Krakow in Poland and Dubrovnik in Croatia. He hopes to travel to more places in the future, with Iceland a destination he'd want to tick off.
