Nothing beats a good curry on a Friday night, or any night for that matter. Here are eight of the best places to try according to Trip Advisor

We do love our curries in Nottingham it seems based simply on the amount of incredible places we have to visit. We even have an entire street, Maid Marian Way, on which you could do a walking curry taste-testing tour if you fancied, or were hungry enough.

But where to go if you desire a decent dhansak or a mouthwatering madras? We take to Trip Advisor to find eight of the top-rated curry restaurants or takeaways to visit.

1) Nawaab Saab

Taking the gold medal position in this ranking, Nawaab Saab isn’t even located in the heart of the city.

Lovers of Indian food will have to go on a mini-pilgrimage out to Nuthall on the outskirts of Nottingham for their fix, but it’s well worth the trip!

Nawaab Saab won Outstanding Restaurant of the Year at the 2021 Curry Awards, even beating the likes of Calcutta Club which also features on the list.

Labelled as ‘majestic’ Indian dining on their website, Nawaab Saab wins the crown for the best place for an Indian in the entirety of Nottingham according to Tripadvisor.

2) Kayal

Located in four different places across the UK - with restaurants in Leicester and beyond - the Nottingham chain remains ever-popular.

Winning prestigious awards from the likes of The Guardian and the Times for the quality of their food, Kayal also prides itself on having healthy and tasty meals on offer too to differentiate from a sub-standard offering.

Located down Broad Street, Kayal is yet another favoured Indian restaurant by the people of Nottingham.

3) The Cumin Restaurant

5) Calcutta Club

‘Looking for Nottingham’s best curry? Well, you have arrived at the right place!’

It’s certainly a bold phrase to have on your main website when you first click, but the Calcutta Club restaurant warrants the bold approach.

You can find the Calcutta Club near Nottingham Playhouse or the famous Robin Hood statue, the perfect location to dine in and enjoy a fantastic curry.

6) The Balti House
