I am a recent graduate from Nottingham Trent University gaining a first class degree in Journalism. Despite my university course being predominantly in digital and print journalism I joined the student radio station Fly Live where I had the chance to host my own radio show every week. I continued presenting on the radio for three years while studying. I combined my love for radio and writing as I was elected as the Head of Online for Fly Live which was an exciting challenge. I was responsible for managing a team, coming up with a range of engaging story ideas and being the websites overall editor. With this experience I gained a passion for radio and this hobby became my job! During my third year at university, I was working as a freelance broadcast assistant at BBC Radio Nottingham which I have continued and developed upon since finishing my degree. Alongside working at BBC Nottingham, I have also written for Nottinghamshire Live and Platform Magazine. I love writing breaking news stories, features, and lifestyle pieces, as a Nottingham local myself I am passionate about reporting in and around our city. One of my favourite pieces I have written is my final dissertation that was on ADHD in women. I was able to tell the stories of women who had gone unnoticed before their diagnosis and relay how ADHD can present differently in women in comparison to men. Outside of work I am a superfan of Little Mix but I also enjoy discovering new music artists. Nottingham is great for unearthing new talent with intimate venues such as Bodega and Rough Trade.
