Quirky venues are two a penny in Nottingham, from bars inside churches to hidden gothic watering holes.

But without a doubt, one of the prettiest places to go drinking in the city is The Hockley Arts Club (THAC) - a bar that is often dubbed the most 'Instagrammable' spot in Nottingham.

The 'hidden Hockley hideaway' blends pubbing, clubbing, and dining. Set inside a stunning Grade II listed building, the popular venue was a lace showroom in a former life.

The Hockley Arts Club was set up by the masterminds behind Nottingham's popular Penny Lane and Beeston Social. The venue has multiple rooms, each of which has its own theme.

The ground floor is home to the independent 'Stockholm' bar which is open until 2am every weekend. The mid-century Scandinavian space has a rocking dancefloor, disco ball, and plenty of seating - it gives off classic pub vibes with space for dancing when the lights go down.

On the middle floor is The Blue Room. Here you will find bar seats, tables, booths, and low lighting, giving this an intimate feel. Food and drink can be ordered to your table, making it a great date night option. Owners describe the Blue Room as "the beating heart of The Hockley Arts Club". But it's the top floor - Electric Garden - which put the venue on the map. Often referred to as 'the most Instagrammable spot in the city', it boasts a ceiling full of pink flowers and fairy lights.

The magical spot, which is reminiscent of a Japanese Garden, can be hired for private events. The space is a prime location for enjoying a cocktail or three with friends at the weekend too.

There is a range of cocktails on the menu named after classic hits including the Dancing Queen, The Twister, Mambo No.5, and Time After Time.

The Hockley Arts Club has a Google rating of 4.4 stars out of 5.
