Now that Christmas Day is over, and we have a few days of relative calm before the next big event, you might be starting to think about New Year's Eve plans.

There are events taking place across Nottingham for every kind of reveller. From balls to murder mystery nights, comedy shows, and discos.

We've rounded up five fantastic New Year's events happening in the city for you to toast in 2024. So limber up those lungs and brush up on the lyrics to Auld Lang Syne, because January 1st will be here before you know it.

1. Just The Tonic NYE Comedy Special

Where: Metronome

When: 31st December 2023, 6pm and 8:30pm

Price: £22 - £24.75 

Enter 2024 with the sound of laughter as Just The Tonic Comedy club hosts a New Year's Eve Comedy Special at the Metronome. There is an early show at 6pm and a late show with doors opening at 8:30pm. Prices range from £22 for early bird tickets and £24.75 each for general admission. 

Performing at the early show are comedians, Scott Bennett, Adam Bloom, Aurie Styla and Darrell Martin. If you attend the late show you will be laughing along with Sally-Ann Hayward, Adam Bloom, Aurie Styla and Darrell Martin.

2. Bottomless Brunch 

Where: Slug and Lettuce at Market Square or Corner House 

When: 31st December 2023, 12 - 9pm

Price: Set price per person

Bottomless brunch is a great option for those of you who don’t want to stay out late but fancy getting dressed up! Slug and Lettuce in Nottingham are doing a ‘Wrapped Up’ bottomless brunch on New Year's Eve where you can book from 12 until 9pm. You can book this at the Slug and Lettuce in Market Square or at the Cornerhouse branch. 

3. Happy ‘fake’ New Year family disco

Where: Clipstone Social Club/Clipstone Welfare 

When: 31st December 2023, 6:30 - 10:30pm

If you have children and want to celebrate New Years Eve with them, without starting the new year with a tired struggle, then this one for you! The Clipstone Social Club is hosting a family disco which starts at 6:30pm and their ‘fake’ midnight will strike at 9:30pm finishing up the event at 10:30pm. Entry is just £3 although you have to book and reserve a table due to the space being limited to 200 people. 

4. NYE Bridgerton Ball

When: 31st December 2023, 7pm till late

Where: Colwick Hall

Price: £89 per person

Are you a fan of the Netflix series Bridgerton? Well, Bridgerton is coming to Nottingham for the night at Colwick Hall’s New Year's Eve Bridgerton Ball. As a pricier option for New Year at £89 per person you get a three-course meal, a glass of prosecco, and canapes.

There are also going to be carriages and a disco with a DJ. So you can dance away at the ball and finish it off with a fireworks display! We may be going into 2024 but this event will have you feeling like you're back in the 1800’s. You can book tickets here.

5. New Year's Eve - Beeston Social

When: 31st December 2023, 9pm till 4am 

Where: The Beeston Social

Price: - £5 - £15 

Somewhere that is extremely popular in Nottingham is The Beeston Social in Beeston and this year they are going big for New Year's Eve! With a DJ on all night, cocktails, and a celebratory atmosphere. Beeston Social is developed by the minds of much loved Nottingham bars Penny Lane and The Hockley Arts Club.
