Vicky McClure has admitted that she “can’t wait” to attend this year’s Splendour Festival after the event was cancelled last year.

The annual music festival will return to Wollaton Park on July 19 and July 20, having been cancelled in 2024 due to issues surrounding the tender process.

Last summer it was confirmed that the event would return in 2025 after an agreement was struck between Nottingham City Council and promoters DHP Family.

In a recent interview with ITV News, McClure spoke of her excitement ahead of Splendour returning later this year.

She said: “I can’t wait to get Splendour back. It felt weird [last year], it was like the whole of Nottingham’s middle calendar had disappeared.”

In previous years, McClure’s Our Dementia Choir performed on the festival’s main stage - and it sounds as if visitors will get treated to the same when Splendour returns this July.

“Absolutely. They were asked last time and performed there, so that would be incredible,” she said.

In a dilemma for McClure, Splendour will coincide with filming dates for the third series of hit ITV series Trigger Point.

However, the Wollaton-born actor has revealed that she has already drawn up plans to ensure that she makes an appearance at the festival.

“That date is already with Trigger Point so they know I’m not available that weekend.

“You have to think ahead with these things!”
