A Nottingham road is closed this morning (Thursday, January 9) after a wall collapsed overnight.

Town Street in Bramcote will remain closed until further notice following the collapse.

Photos shared on social media by Nottinghamshire County Council show a large section of the stone wall having broken away and fallen into the road.

Nottinghamshire County Council said: “ Unfortunately, Town Street in Bramcote is closed due to a collapsed wall.

“Further updates will be provided as soon as possible. Please avoid the area for your own safety.”

Known locally as ‘Devil’s Bend’, the road was closed for several months last year due to structural issues.
