Mercedes Benz and Audi voted as Nottingham's favourite car brands
People in Nottingham love a German manufactured car
Everyone has a favourite car, whether it's an Aston Martin Db5 like James Bond or a DeLorean like Doc in Back to the Future.

What's mine, I hear you ask? A Range Rover Vogue, ideally in pink (and yes it's entirely because of its name).
And now the people of Nottingham have spoken and revealed their preferred cars - and it's become very clear German manufacturers have a chokehold on our city.

Audi and Mercedes Benz have jointly ranked as Nottingham's favourite car in a national study, with Volkswagen ranking second.
The survey conducted by the car-sharing marketplace Turo has also revealed that half of the city's drivers do not own their preferred car.
Despite drivers across Nottingham longing for a German automotive machine, the most commonly owned makes in the city were Toyota (9%) and Nissan (9%), indicating that Japanese car manufacturers are most effectively meeting the needs of Nottingham drivers.
This was followed by Ford (8%) and Peugeot (7%).

A need for speed
Almost half (48%) of drivers across Nottingham said their current car isn’t their preferred choice. If money were no object, Nottingham drivers said that they desired speed and style over all else, with one in five (22%) wanting a sports car, followed by an electric car (9%) and an SUV (8%).
Xavier Collins, Turo’s Vice President & Head of UK said: “Audi’s and Mercedes Benz’s are among the most booked cars on our platform in the UK, so it’s no surprise to see them rank so highly. But drivers don’t have to be able to own their favourite car to drive it, in fact they don’t have to own a car at all.
"Thousands of people take to Turo every day to take the car of their dreams for a spin or even just for everyday activities. We offer the chance to hire specific cars for different occasions, for example for a 4x4 for getting out of the city into the countryside, or a Mercedes to arrive at a wedding in style.”
