Nottingham is home to the UK's biggest festive drinkers - and white wine is the tipple of choice

Nottingham is home to the nation's biggest festive drinks, according to a recent survey.
The data collected by natural pre-drinking supplement Myrkl, calculated the number of residents who consume alcohol more than once per week over the Christmas period.

After digging further into the city’s Christmas drinking habits, the data found that Nottingham residents most like to wet their whistle with a glass of white wine over the festive period, with nearly a third (31.13%) voting it as their top Christmas beverage choice. This was closely followed by beer (19.81% each), and lager (20.75%).
But while residents from Nottingham admit to enjoying a Christmas ‘bevvy’ research has also revealed that alcohol fears are dampening some residents’ Christmas spirit.
According to the data, 13.68% of people from Nottingham are “feeling nervous” about the festive season due to the increase in social drinking, and 23.58% are worried about their health.

"Staying in control can help you to enjoy everything the festive season has to offer, which is why we’ve created Myrkl – a unique natural food supplement, designed for responsible adults who want to enjoy socialising without having to compromise the next day. So, with Myrkl, Nottingham residents can enjoy a festive night out and still feel their best the next day!”
