Now, an opening date of Monday, November 27 when the new restaurant will welcome diners for the first time has been confirmed.
Rudy’s restaurant will seat 120 customers, plus a further 16 guests in a "private pizza room" inside the former bank’s vaults.

Established in Manchester in 2015, Rudy’s has since opened 23 branches across the country, including Liverpool, Birmingham, and Leeds, and is known for its minimalist decor and award-winning, authentic pizzas.

Rudy’s follows authentic Neapolitan pizza-making traditions, serving classic recipes and sources its high-quality ingredients directly from Naples, including tomatoes and mozzarella.
The city’s pizza-lovers will be treated to three new signature specials to coincide with the restaurant launch.
- Triple Pepperoni - topped with San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte, Napoli pepperoni, British pepperoni, Calabrian pepperoni, Stracciatella and chilli honey.
- Zucca (V) - this unique pizza uses pumpkin cream as its base, is topped with fior di latte, goat's cheese, roasted garlic chestnut mushrooms, and finished with a sprinkle of toasted pumpkin seeds and chilli flakes.
- Guanciale & Pear - this white pizza is topped with fior di latte, gorgonzola, guanciale (cured pork cheek) and fresh pears, sprinkled with toasted walnuts and fresh thyme.
'Vibrant, cool city'
Neal Bates from Rudy’s Nottingham said: “The team is really excited to be opening our first site in Nottingham.
“A vibrant and cool city, Nottingham has everything on its doorstep, and we look forward to being part of the neighbourhood – serving the classic Neapolitan pizzas right in the city centre.”

Rudy’s Nottingham will open between 12pm and 9.30pm from Monday to Thursday, 12pm until 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and between 12pm and 9pm on Sundays.
The three-storey bank was built in 1896 and features a Grade II listed ashlar pink granite façade, which will be protected, six doric columns and mahogany panelling within the Lace Market conservation area.
Previously an outlet of French Connection until 2019, Rudy’s new home will create 40 jobs and become the latest pizza restaurant to open in Nottingham, which has seen a flurry of competition including Detroit, Pizza Punks, Pizzamisú, Happy Dough Lucky and Pizza Pilgrims.
Arc Inspirations withdrew a plan to convert the site into cocktail bar chain Manahatta in 2022 and instead opened its BOX sports bar on Thurland Street.
