Sting, Nile Rodgers & CHIC and Sophie Ellis-Bextor will perform at Sherwood Forest next year, it has been announced.
The chart-topping artists are the first acts to be revealed as part of Forestry England’s ‘Forest Live’ gigs at Sherwood Pines.
Olly Murs, Elbow and Tom Jones have previously brought the series of nationwide summer concerts to life.
It is the first time live music has returned to Sherwood Pines since 2019, with performances in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic and its following impact.
Further gigs at the forest venue will be announced soon, Forestry England confirmed.
Hayley Skipper, director of operations, commercial visitor development of Forestry England, said: “It’s been several years since the last concerts in the beautiful Sherwood Pines.
“We’re delighted that in 2024 this fabulous setting will be alive with music once again.”
Music icon Sting will bring his electric rock ensemble and ‘My Songs 2024’ show to Sherwood Pines - a collection of songs throughout his illustrious career with The Police and as a solo artist.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Nile Rodgers will be accompanied by CHIC, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Deco for a night filled with chart-topping singles, funky beats and hip-hop classics.
Forestry England uses the money raised by the Forest Live gigs to maintain its woodland, run conservation projects and continue growing trees.
Sting will perform at Sherwood Pines on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
Nile Rodgers & CHIC and Sophie Ellis-Bextor will perform on Friday, June 21, 2024.
Tickets for the first two Forest Live gigs are on sale now.
