With a whole week dedicated to supporting the city’s curry houses, NottinghamWorld has compiled a list of some of the best Indian restaurants, as ranked by Google and Tripadvisor reviews.
National Curry Week, which runs from October 2 to 8, 2023, was founded by Peter Grove in October 1998 to raise money for charity and drive awareness and appreciation of the burgeoning Indian restaurant industry.

Gurkha Express, on High Road in Beeston, is an Indian and Nepalese restaurant serving all of the most popular Indian dishes.
Customers have highly recommended the restaurant for its family atmosphere, with one review reading: “Staff served food with love and good hospitality. I will visit again and again on my special occasions to make it a memorable day.”
Kottaram
Kottatam, on Maid Marian Way, Nottingham, offers unique dishes that vary in range and variety of authentic Indian food.
The menu has a wide range of dishes, including several vegetarian options like paneer pollichathu (Indian cottage cheese simmered with fresh tomatoes, sliced onions, peppers, ginger, and garlic) and bhindi amchurian (fresh okra with sliced red onions, ginger and mustard seeds).

Dhaka Delhi, on High Street, in Ruddington, is known for its helpful staff and fresh and tasty dishes.
The website recommends the stuffed paratha or mushroom bhaji, however there are plenty of delicious options on the menu though the dishes are occasionally sweeter than usual.
Yak and Yeti
Yak and Yeti, on Wollaton Road, Beeston, is an Indian and Nepalese restaurant which focuses on preparing high-quality food with the best possible ingredients.
The restaurant has received rave reviews from customers. One said: “The flavour in the Sherpa Chicken is immense, so deep but not too heavy on spice. Lamb chops are divine, melt in the mouth, puri beautiful. Staff are so sweet and friendly. It’s our regular.”

Three Spices, on Easthorpe Street in Ruddington, is home to multi-national-award winning chefs who use top-quality, local and internationally-sourced ingredients to make delicious curries.
The menu offers both traditional curries and their own Bangladeshi specialities, including its special masala. A £25 set menu is also available including poppadoms, chutney, a mixed platter, main dish, rice and a naan.
Nawaab Saab
Nawaab Saab, on Nottingham Rd, Nuthall, is a multi-award winning restaurant and finalist in the 2021 British Curry Awards for best in the East Midlands.
The menu includes a variety of signature dishes, including Dhesi Karahi, Lahori Gosht (lamb in a yoghurt sauce with onion, garlic and ginger), and Nawaabi (a moist dish topped with cheese, tomato, onion and paneer).

With most dishes priced under £12, Noor Jahan is great for an affordable and delicious meal, with all of your favourite dishes and a host of vegetarian options on the menu.
Calcutta Club
Calcutta Club near Old Market Square is an award-winning Indian restaurant which prides itself on serving Nottingham’s Best Curry.
With all of the classics on the menu as well as creative chef specials like the autumnal Kaddu Gosht (lamb slow-cooked in a pumpkin puree) and Vada Curry (deep-fried lentil patties immersed in a flavorful sauce) there are plenty of delicious options to try.
