September dates added for tours of ‘haunted’ Nottingham catacombs beneath Rock Cemetery
The catacombs are thought to be one of the most haunted locations in Nottingham
More dates have been added for tours of the catacombs beneath Nottingham’s Rock Cemetery.

Since the start of the year the tours have been held on select dates each month, often selling out soon after tickets become available.
On September 28 four tours will be held, beginning at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.
The tours, run by Nottingham City Council’s Parks and Open Spaces team, will provide an introduction and background to the cemetery itself followed by a tour of the catacombs and Robin Hood’s Cave.
While no bodies were ever stored in the catacombs, the dark tunnels beneath the cemetery are widely considered to be among Nottingham’s most haunted locations.

In the 1800s a man died after falling into the catacombs while digging a grave directly above.
There have been reports of visitors feeling the presence of a person move close to them while touring the catacombs.
Rock Cemetery, officially called Church Cemetery, opened in 1856 and is the final resting place for several notable people, including architect Watson Fothergill.
Tickets are priced at £14 and can be purchased here.
