A West Bridgford park is set to welcome hundreds of visitors this weekend thanks to a free outdoor cinema event.
On Sunday, September 1 Bridgford Park will host an immersive cinema experience, with two blockbusters being screened.
Disney Pixar’s Elemental will be on the big screen at 4pm, with Guardians of the Galaxy being shown at 7pm.
Taking place between 2pm to 9pm, the event will be hosted by Rushcliffe Borough Council, Broadway Nottingham and Film Hub Midlands and funded by UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
The day will be kick-started from 2pm by a series of interactive cinema-themed workshops for all ages, including a ‘Build Your Own Spaceship’ area.
Film fans are welcome to bring their own picnics or purchase food and drink on-site.
According to BBC Weather, the weather in West Bridgford on Sunday will be 22C, with sunny intervals and light winds.
Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Deputy Leader, Councillor Abby Brennan said: “Our free Sunday Cinema event is back next month, and we look forward to welcoming families and individuals to enjoy a fun day out in the heart of West Bridgford!
“There will be two family favourite films on the big screen where you can enjoy watching Disney's Elemental and Guardians of the Galaxy outdoors in a fantastic outdoor cinema setting.
“Building on last year's success, you can expect even more family-fun activities such as building your own spaceship, alien sock puppets and an animation space station!
“Come along, bring your picnic blankets and popcorn and enjoy a trip to the movies and more!”
