While the display team’s full 2024 schedule has not yet been confirmed, preparations for the team’s Diamond Season are already underway.

Earlier this month the Hawk T1A jets took to the skies for the first time in 2024 for pre-season training flights ahead of the first air shows in May.

Since October 2022, the Arrows have been based at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire, just a short drive over the border from Nottinghamshire.

Aviation enthusiasts in the county will be pleased to know that another of these training flights from RAF Waddington is scheduled for Thursday, February 22.

This week the famous jets will be training in Scotland, before heading back to RAF Waddington on Thursday afternoon.

The nine aircraft are due to land back at Waddington at 4.32pm on Thursday after several days’ training at Tain Air Weapons Range.

Those in north or east Nottinghamshire may catch a glimpse of the Arrows as they head back to Lincolnshire, but those looking for the best view should park up close to the base.

The RAF Waddington viewing area can be found off the A15 Sleaford Road - around an hour’s drive from Nottingham.
