A takeaway has launched what could be Nottinghamshire’s biggest pizza - and it comes at a bargain price.

The Chip Inn, in Huthwaite, made national headlines last year after introducing the UK’s ‘biggest portion of fish and chips’ to its menu.

Served in a 20-inch box, the £40 meal contains chips, fish, sausages, fish cakes, curry sauce, mushy peas and baked beans.

The box, which has to be reinforced with Sellotape before customers can collect it, weighs around a stone.

Now the takeaway has launched its latest super-sized creation - a 20-inch pizza.

The new mammoth addition to its menu was announced to customers on National Pizza Day (February 9).

Speaking to Nottingham World, the takeaway’s co-owner Megann Altinoz, said: “We just thought, ‘we’ve got 20-inch pizza boxes, why are we not doing 20-inch pizzas?’

“Everyone’s been coming in and saying ‘we’ve been waiting for this for so long!’.

“It’s not on our menu yet because we’re having new menus printed, so it’s only people who have seen it on Facebook who have been coming in so far.

“It only launched a couple of weeks ago but we’ve done a fair few already.”

The 20-inch pizza is very reasonably priced at £20.

Customers are free to customise their pizza of choice and can choose up to four toppings.

The pizzas can also be divided into four different toppings, if preferred.
