Despite a spirited performance from Nuno Espirito Santo’s men, City’s quality showed and closed the gap between themselves and Arsenal to just one point.

Gallagher, wearing a typically-stylish green jacket, was seen arm-in-arm with fellow City fans after the two goals both went in.

Born in Manchester in 1967, Gallagher has followed City since childhood and is regularly seen on the terraces at the Etihad or other grounds across the country.

He and his band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, performed at last year’s Splendour Festival, alongside the likes of Madness and Sam Ryder.

Yesterday’s result leaves Forest just one point above the relegation zone with three games left to play.

The weekend’s game came a week after the controversial loss to Everton, in which the club criticised refereeing decisions.

A statement released by Forest after the game called the impartiality of VAR operator Stuart Attwell into question.

The club will face Sheffield United, Chelsea and Burnley in its remaining games of the 2023/24 season.
