Victoria Centre's new H&M store being kept firmly under wraps as opening date approaches - photos

Work on the Victoria Centre’s new H&M store is being kept under wraps, with the shop’s opening date under a week away. 

It was confirmed yesterday (Thursday, April 25) that the new shop will open at 10am next Thursday (May 2). 

The new clothing outlet will open in the former Topshop unit, which closed in 2021. 

With just a few days to go until the grand opening, work on the new store is being kept from public view. 

When Nottingham World visited the Victoria Centre earlier today (Friday, April 26), wooden boards covered the entirety of the new H&M unit. 

A section of the covered shopfront said: “Something exciting is coming…”

While shoppers might be left guessing for now, we do know that the new clothing outlet will have a large range of both clothing and homeware.

Alongside its expansive womenswear, menswear, and kid’s fashion offering, the new store will also host the brand’s H&M HOME concept, where customers can browse curated collections of contemporary décor and home accessories alongside the latest trend-driven fashion collections and styles.

The new store will also feature click-and-collect lockers, while customers will be able to pay for goods quickly through self-service check-outs. 

The first 200 customers in the queue next Thursday will be offered a complimentary gift-with-purchase, and visitors can experience exclusive launch day in-store activations. 

H&M members will be able to claim 20% off purchases on the first day of trading. 

Nigel Wheatley, centre director at Victoria Centre, said: “Here at Victoria Centre, we have a range of exciting brands on our roster and we are thrilled to welcome H&M in joining them.

“We always look to provide our shoppers with a variety of retailers, from fashion to homeware, and we’re excited that H&M brings both to its new home.

“I’d encourage any visitors to the centre to pop by the store on 2nd May, which is located on the lower mall, to see the newly-refurbished unit and get their hands on some exclusive deals.”
