The Nottingham filming locations for BBC Sherwood series two that you’ll recognise
You’ll see some familiar places in the new series!
At 9pm this Sunday (September 1) the third episode of hit drama Sherwood will air on BBC One.

The first series aired to critical acclaim in 2022 with a UK audience of 7.5 million viewers, making it one of the country’s most-watched new dramas that year.
Now, more than two years later, writer James Graham has created six more episodes with new characters and gripping plot lines.
With new actors such as Robert Lindsay and Monica Dolan added to the cast, fans can expect plenty more twists and turns as series two progresses.
Set in the present day, the second series has introduced two new families that find themselves entangled with the Sparrows, entering a complex web of local gangs, old rivalries, revenge, and betrayal.

Writer Graham, who was born and raised in Ashfield, has continued to use his home county for filming series two of the drama.
Much like the first series, Nottinghamshire-based viewers are likely to recognise some local areas where filming took place.
Where was series two filmed?
Despite being set in Ashfield, many scenes in series two were filmed in Nottingham.
As we know, the second series has introduced a new Sheriff, so as you might expect quite a few scenes were filmed inside City Hall.
An important filming location for the six new episodes, Time Out reports that the show’s production team were granted full access to city hall during shoots.

According to BBC News, other Nottinghamshire filming locations include:
Nottingham Castle
Broadway Cinema
Lace Market
Sherwood Forest
Bestwood Country Park
We also know that filming was carried out at two locations in the neighbouring county of Lincolnshire.
The cast spent a day shooting scenes in Skegness, while the seaside town of Mablethorpe was also used for filming.
