There was lots of excited when Nottingham-based coffee chain announced it will open its newest branch earlier this month. Incredibly, the former shop has been given a complete makeover in time to open tomorrow morning.
The first 200 customers will be rewarded with a free drink and the first 50 will also receive a goody bag with artwork designed by Nottingham artist Jess Williams. The bags and stickers were on display throughout the shop on the night. Guests were also treated to a coffee infused rum created by Ron Colón Salvadoreño.
Two bags will contain either a gold or silver ticket, with the customers in with the chance of winning a Sage Barista Express machine, an Opal Pod machine, a free three-month coffee subscription or a barista course.
While the shop has signature 200 Degree touches such as the ‘roaring neon fire’ and cosy armchairs, there are some new additions such as an incredible balcony and an upper floor with vintage lighting.
Tables of freshly made cakes, sandwiches and cupcakes with tiny teacups were on offer for guests who were invited to have a sneaky peek at the new venue. 200 Degrees had said it had been monitoring sites in West Bridgford to open a new cafe “for some time” and claims to have “fought off” several larger chains.
In a twist, it began in West Bridgford eleven years ago but it has taken that long for the rapidly expanding Nottingham brand to make it back home. The new cafe is located in a unit between Central Avenue and the Albert Road car park, which was previously home to Oliver Bonas, before the fashion retailer moved to the former HSBC branch on the high street.
