Hi, I’m Emma, born and bred in Nottingham however briefly lived in London during the covid years. I am a huge film enthusiast, I love the cinemas, learning about those who made the movies and those who trained the wonderful talent we get to see on our screens. In a weird but wonderful turn of events I worked in the costume department under Sandy Powell for the feature film ‘Living’ which got a BAFTA and Oscar nomination – unfortunately winning neither. My favourite movie is very unashamedly Wes Andersons ‘Grand Budapest Hotel’ very closely followed by Federico Fellini’s ‘Juliet of the Spirits’. In Nottingham you will mostly find me in Hockley, drinking and iced oat coffee with a croissant by my side or browsing the all the vintage clothes shops. On a sunny day my parks of choice are either Gedling Country Park or Wollaton – in fact they actually put on outdoor cinema screenings in the summer if anyone fancies it! I’m in in my early twenties but am trying my best to travel and see as much of the world as I can, my dream destinations being Tokyo and New York and I welcome any suggestions as to where else I should go. Taking this into consideration I have decided I really ought to learn a language, so I am back on my Duolingo (how many times have we all been there) learning Spanish, but if you ever meet me, please don’t test me quite yet! I really enjoy writing and am looking forwards to where my career takes me.
