Nottingham Jazz Festival attracts star studded line up at Binks Yard

A new Jazz Festival is taking place in Nottingham from Friday, May 26 to Sunday, May 28th at Binks Yard’s outdoor terrace.

The new yard terrace is hosting several music events over the summer including the Jazz Festival and a Pride event in July.

The canal-side bar and event space has attracted some of the biggest names in Jazz will be performing such as the forefather of British Neo-soul - singer, and songwriter Omar - and Antonio Forcione, one of the greatest acoustic guitarists of all time.

Pianist Tom Seals who topped the UK Blues charts with his debut EP will be making an appearance alongside Saxophonist Snake Davis who boasts a career in the industry spanning over three decades. Meanwhile, saxophonist Snake Davis, who boasts a career in the industry spanning over three decades, will be serving up his iconic sultry sax tones.

There will be a selection of street food available to purchase from the terrace throughout the weekend.

Tickets are now on sale and cost £30 per day or £70 for a weekend ticket. The outside space has a capacity for 500 people and there will be an outdoor drinks kiosk along with a meat smoker, smoked food menu and one of the largest screens in the East Midlands that is over seven meters wide.

Ben Hicklin, head of events at Binks Yard, said: “We’re really excited to announce the launch of the Nottingham Jazz Festival. We’ve got some amazing acts lined up with more exciting acts still to be revealed. Our outdoor terrace is something we’re really proud of, and it’s fantastic events like this where our terrace really comes into its own.”

The newly launched Binks Yard offers an all-day bar, restaurant and music venue which is one of the first to open in the Island Quarter. It’s named after the local Victorian beer retailer Henry Binks who operated in the 19th-century Nottingham. The canalside venue also has Cleaver and Wake, a Michelin Star restaurant upstairs.
