Here at Nottingham World, we like to bang the drum for homegrown talent.
From TV stars like Vicky McClure to sporting icons like Mary Earps, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire has been the birthplace of some of the country's most famous faces.
That of course extends to the nation's favourite sport, football.
Stars of yesteryear and those that grace the Premier League today have grown up in the area.
Some broke through at Forest and some at Notts County, while others emerged elsewhere in the country to begin their professional years after growing up in Nottingham.
Here we're looking at 20 footballing stars born in Nottingham, including a current Forest talisman and recent Euros winner.

1. Keith Alexander
Keith Alexander might not have made a name for himself in the top flights but was a notorious lower league star. As a manager, he took Lincoln City to four consecutive play-offs. He was believed to be the first full-time black professional manager in the Football League and is thought of as a pioneer. He passed away at the age of 53 in 2010. | Getty Images

2. Viv Anderson
Viv Anderson won five senior trophies in his career, including the 1977/78 Football League title and two European Cups while playing for Brian Clough’s Nottingham Forest. | Getty Images

3. Leon Best
