Chris Wood makes Nottingham Forest dressing room admission after ‘disjointed’ claim

Chris Wood has admitted his surprise by the "togetherness" of the Nottingham Forest dressing room with a host of new players arriving at the club this season.

The City Ground outfit have made an incredible 30 signings since promotion from the Championship, with Wood joining on loan during the January window.

Wood’s move to Forest will be made permanent for a fee of £15m in the summer after he triggered the relevant clauses in his loan agreement.

The New Zealand international has felt a “togetherness” in the squad since arriving, and feels that could play a huge role in their battle against the drop.

“I think the main thing is the dressing room, when you have everybody together, and that is huge and that is what I felt when I walked into this dressing room,” he told Sky Sports on the touchline ahead of Forest’s meeting with Newcastle on Friday.

“With the season they have had and with the amount of players that have come in, I expected to walk into a bit of a disjointed [dressing room].

“But the manager and staff have got the team right, and together, and the togetherness brings you through in situations like this.

“We had it at Burnley and we had it at Newcastle last season, and that is the main thing.”

Wood’s permanent move to Forest does not come into effect until the end of the season, making him ineligible for Friday’s Premier League clash.
