The presence of a former landlord?
“There was one time back in January when we had one of the guests in my group in the cellars and we were using a rem-pod.
“A rem-pod is a device that emits electromagnetic frequencies and anything that breaks that field will set the device off.
“We had this guest who was calling out and almost instantly we were getting responses on the rem-pod.

“As soon as he started calling out again, he would get a response on the rem-pod.
“It didn’t take us too long before we worked out that this guest was a spitting image of George Henry Ward, the former landlord known as ‘Yorkey’.
“As soon as this guy asked questions there would be a response, and it was an intelligent response too.

“Of course, what we don’t know is whether that was Yorkey or someone else.”
Phantom crawling on the pub garden roof
“In January this year, we were on a break during a tour and some of our guests and team were in the beer garden having a smoke.
“Out of completely nowhere, there was a loud crash which hit the tent above the beer garden.

“At first we wondered if someone had jumped from the castle wall because it was a huge crash and it looked as if someone was crawling on the ceiling of the tent.
“We could see the handprints move along and then they just disappeared.
“It was just the weirdest and most ridiculous thing to think about and comprehend.

“It definitely looked like handprints rather than pawprints from an animal and I really can’t explain it.
“If I had a list of the top weirdest things I’ve seen, that’s definitely up there.”
The black knight that wouldn’t go away
“In early 2019 we were doing a private investigation and I had a very strange experience which actually bothered me for a couple of weeks afterwards.

“If you believe in mythology, black knights are usually these noble characters who have been stripped of their heraldry because of misdeeds that they have conducted in their lifetime.
“We saw this black knight standing and blocking the walkway. It was like a translucent figure that we could just about see because of some emergency lighting.
“We were trying to get by, but every time we tried we felt as if something was pushing us.

“That was a very strange experience but the weirdest part was, for the two weeks after that investigation I had the same recurring dream every night.
“It was like an out-of-body experience where I could see myself sleeping in bed, but at the end of the room, a black knight was standing there with his sword pointing down.
“It got to the point where it was really bothering me and I was feeling very uncomfortable because it was as if this energy had followed me.

“The nights after that, my dreams went back to normal and I never experienced this thing again.
“That was a very bizarre experience for me and I still can’t explain it.”
