From the usual history-filled museums and idyllic parks to more specific sights such as Robin Hood, the Left Lion, or Nottingham Castle, the city does not fall short of places to visit.
These are just a few examples from Nottingham’s residents about why our city is so great.
1. Lily Campbell, 19, student at the University of Nottingham, said: “I really like the Nottingham Contemporary, especially as I do art at uni. “I also really like it because it’s free entry which is great for students and everyone else as well. “Hockley is also great because it has loads of weird little shops and interesting places to eat.”

2. Mike Hughes, 26, project manager, from Nottingham, said: “I’ve lived here for a few years now and I remember when I first came here, I only really knew about Robin Hood so that’s very significant for the city. “Obviously that whole area is really nice because you also have the Castle, the caves and the canal and all the nice pubs, but the statue is definitely the biggest landmark I think.” Places like the Nottingham Contemporary and Hockley are also favourites among young people.

3. Keith Purnell, 73, from Nottingham, added: “I’ve lived here all my life but the Castle, Wollaton Park, and Robin Hood best represent the city. “You’ve got lots of history. “The Nottingham Industrial Museum at Wollaton is also really good. “The Trip to Jerusalem pub is also very significant for the city because there’s so much history behind it.”
