Belvoir Castle to host three day live music festival in the historic grounds drawing crowds of 30,000

Music fans are in for a treat this summer as Forbidden Festival is set to take over Belvoir Castle with a huge line up of house, techno, Drum and bass performers. Last year was the first year that camping was introduced to the festival drawing a crowd of over 30,000.

The festival, which takes place on Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June 4 from 12pm is set to be the biggest yet with four stages across the forest titled: The Bunker, The Manor, The Reactor and new for 2023, The Castle. This is the eighth year of the festival which has grown from strength to strength.

Over 50 artists are performing including: The Shapeshifters, Groove Armada and Todd Terry. Tickets are on sale now from £50.50 and this year there will be options for luxury bell tent camping including bell tents.

This is the first time there has been live music on the Friday night alongside the Forbidden Silent Disco - both of which are exclusive to those camping.

The event is being held in the historical grounds of Belvoir Castle which is just six miles from Grantham.

The event is set for an incredible start to the weekend with two live stages in the main arena on Friday compete with full production and stellar line ups from world renowned party brand Glitterbox and the famous Defected record label which is one of the longest running independent labels of its kind, setting the standard for house music in the UK.

Glitterbox is a nightlife phenomenon which started in 2015. Their parties bring some of the world’s best DJs and emerging talents for a soundtrack that showcases dance music in its purest forms. Glitterbox events combines dancers, fierce performers, drag queens and music together to create truly unforgettable moments on dancefloors across the world.

The festival will host an iconic Glitterbox x Defected takeover on the Friday night to kick off the Forbidden weekend. Founder of the famous record label Solid Grooves, Michael Bibi is back for his second Forbidden performance, having treated Forbidden Forest festival goers to a surprise B2B set with Skream in 2019.

The Shapeshifters are best known for their number one single Lola’s Theme which went to number one in the UK Singles Chart in July 2004 and earned them a Brit Award in 2005.
