With less than four weeks to go until polling day, campaigning for July’s general election is well underway.

Earlier this week the first televised debate between Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer was hosted by ITV’s Julie Etchingham. 

According to a snap YouGov poll, Mr Sunak was adjudged to have performed marginally better than the Labour leader. 

But with several debates still to take place, the two leaders can expect to be grilled on many more important issues.

Nottingham is set to host the final TV debate between Mr Sunak and Mr Starmer on June 26 - just eight days before millions go to the polls. 

It will be the final chance both men are able to get their messages across to viewers on live TV before July 4.

We’ve rounded up the key information about the Nottingham debate, including whether residents will be able to get their questions answered in-person.

What time will the debate take place and how can I watch it? 

The debate will be held between 9pm and 10pm on June 26. 

It will be broadcast on BBC One, BBC News and local radio across the country and will also be available on BBC iPlayer.

Who will host the debate and where is it being held? 

BBC News presenter Sophie Raworth will be tasked with putting questions to the two party leaders and ensuring the debate flows.

The BBC has not confirmed where in Nottingham the debate will take place, but it’s likely to be broadcast from the University of Nottingham’s King’s Meadow Campus. 

Back in February political debate show Question Time filmed an episode inside the campus. 

How can I be in the audience? 

The BBC has confirmed that the debate will take place in front of an audience which “reflects the broad electoral map of Great Britain”.

The audience will ask questions and the BBC will also ask members of the public to submit questions via the BBC website

While the debate will be held in-front of a live audience, the BBC has not yet confirmed how this audience will be selected.
