The man was left needing hospital treatment following the “horrible assault”

A man was rushed to hospital with “multiple facial fractures” after he was attacked at a Nottinghamshire racecourse.

The man, aged in his twenties, is believed to have been assaulted close to the stage where acts were performed between 7pm and 7.30pm at Southwell Racecourse in Rolleston.

Nottinghamshire Police is appealing for any witnesses of the “horrible assault”, which happened on August 20, to come forward.

Det Con Chris Archer said: “More than 7,000 people were in attendance at the event when this incident happened, so there will certainly be at least one person who saw this assault take place.

“If that is you, or you have any other information relating to this, it is absolutely essential that you come forward to the police, so that we can act.”

A suspect description has not been released by police.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101 and quote incident number 804 of August 20.
