The Arboretum has been named as 'the most peaceful place in Nottingham'

We can't be the only ones who are finding that life is especially hectic right now. From work meetings to a packed social calendar, it seems that everything is always go, go, go.

That's why it is extra important to find a minute (or preferably 10) for yourself to stop and unwind.

A new list has been shared by Earth.fm, ranking the most tranquil places in the city.

The top spot definitely won't surprise you but maybe a couple of others will. Each place has been given a 'peacefulness score' (or at least that's what we're calling it) out of 10.

FYI: The ranking has been determined by noise levels in the area.

So without further ado, here are some perfectly peaceful places to visit in Nottingham if you need things to be less go, go, go and more slow, slow, slow.

1. The Arboretum

The Arboretum is thought to have been the inspiration for Peter Pan's Neverland.

The historic park, which has remained practically unchanged for decades, is the oldest in the city.

Take a moment to listen to the soothing sound of the lagoon and the tropical birds (yes, really).

2. St. Ann's Allotments

Nothing is more nurturing than being outside and there's something about tending to plants or vegetables that helps the brain to switch off.

Take a flask and a deck chair for that extra 'zen' moment.

A visit here can bring clarity and perspective.
