The new venue is much larger and will make the 'ideal coffee shop'

A much-loved Nottingham tearoom has announced it has a new home. Biscuit and Brew Teahouse will be moving from Hounds Gate to a much larger venue on Victoria Street.

Biscuit and Brew Teahouse shared its new location with customers in a heart-warming Instagram post, as owners Dee and Darren asked for help to kit out the new tearoom.

The post said: "We've been teasing you for a little about where we're moving to, and now we can finally tell you...

"Our new location will be 5 Victoria Street, Notts. Some of you may know Bird and Blend who moved recently... well, it's where they used to be! Almost 3 times the size of Hounds Gate, which means we can fit in lots more tables plus make an awesome lounge space! Don't worry. We intend to keep it as cosy and intimate as you all love."

The post continued: "We're currently in the process of designing and building everything from scratch and have put a lot of money into our new project. However, we need your help... "We still need tables, chairs, a kitchen, a tea bar, lights, and finishing touches to make it look extra special. So we've set a crowdfunder up with the hope to raise the funds to make this all happen. Everyone who helps out will be rewarded with a range of amazing gifts to say thank you and this is what we want to stress the most!

"We are SO SO grateful for all of our amazing customers who helped get us where we are today! We hope we can give you an even better experience over on Victoria Street in the new year! "Check out our bio for the crowdfunding link. No amount of support is too small, and it is much appreciated!"

The story behind Biscuit and Brew

Biscuit and Brew was born in the midst of Covid when Dee and Darren became furloughed. It originally started as a loose-leaf tea brand but that advanced when a small but perfectly formed shop came up for sale in Hounds Gate.

The coffee shop quickly became known for its "ace matchas, coffees, hot chocolates, and chais" and three years later is still trading. However, with space for only 18 covers, B&B has outgrown its Hounds Gate venue.

And so came the desire to move! As if by fate Darren was walking past the new venue on Victoria Road (previously Bird and Blend) and thought to himself "This would be a great place for a coffee shop". Weeks later the property was up for let and the pair were having a look.

The rest is history and the new-look coffee shop is set to open in the New Year. There's some pretty major renovation work going on including new walls and wires. You can look at before and after pictures on the crowdfunding page. Those who would like to contribute to the crowdfunding page are able to do so in a variety of ways including buying shop credit. The scheme will go a long way to decking out the new coffee shop and helping it to open in 2024. Further details here.
