There are few things we love more than an afternoon tea.

What's not to love about cream-filled cakes, tiny sandwiches, and maybe even a glass of fizz or two?

Nottingham has lots of lovely places to visit for cream tea, from The Pudding Pantry to Josephine's in Parliament Square.

But by far one of the best places to visit for high tea in the city is the White Rabbit (and not just because we love the name).

Located in Bridlesmith Walk, The White Rabbit hails its name from the magical Alice in Wonderland character, who leads Alice to the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

The White Rabbit also has a lovely tearoom in Tudor Square, West Bridgford.

It has a variety of afternoon options including a specialty 'brunch high-tea' which includes mini bacon rolls, ham and cheese croissants, salmon blinis, granola with yogurt, and a pastry selection.

Brunch tea is served until 12pm and there is also a vegetarian option.

It also serves a range of lovely breakfast options including the full and veggie bunny. There is also a range of delicious loose leaf and infusion teas.

The White Rabbit also serves a classic Afternoon Tea, with scones, sandwiches, and a quiche for £23.90 per head or £28.90 with a glass of Prosecco.

The cute Teahouse has a four-star rating on TripAdvisor and a flurry of gleaming reviews.

"It was a work-of-art - delicious food, beautifully presented in lovely surroundings. Staff were very attentive and were more than happy to box it up for us as there was too much food to eat! I would definitely recommend it - a real treat!"

While Luke M said: "Lovely afternoon tea for Mother's Day. Visited today with my mum and sister for Mother's Day. Who both really enjoyed themselves.

"Food was excellent and plenty of it, good selection of teas, coffees, sandwiches, and cakes, made to feel very welcome by the staff and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thanks for a great afternoon."
