New Wilko store to open in Rotherham -just an hour's drive from Nottingham

Much-loved high street retailer Wilko is to open two new stores later this year- and one is just a short drive from Nottingham. 

CDS Superstores, which bought the Wilko brand and website last year after the chain went into administration, has announced that new stores in Rotherham and St Albans will open in the Spring. 

The Rotherham store will be at the Parkgate Shopping Park - around an hour’s drive from Nottingham.

Nottingham’s nine Wilko stores closed last year as the chain disappeared from high streets after more than 90 years. 

Towards the end of last year, Wilko stores reopened in Plymouth, Exeter and Luton. 

In a Facebook post, Wilko said: “We’ve loved seeing you in-store again, and you’ve visited us so much we’ve got 2 new stores opening early this year with plenty more to come!

“We’ll be prioritising all ex-Wilko employees for roles inj our new stores, so keep an eye out for when recruitment opens shortly.”

The new Wilko stores will offer a range of home and garden products, including Wilko-brand products as well as well-known brands.
