Gedling road closures: four for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Gedling's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Gedling's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A38, from 8pm January 8 2024 to 6am March 31 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound and southbound, junction 28 to junction 29, carriageway, slip road and lane closures due to improvement works, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M1, from 8pm February 6 to 6am February 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 27 to junction 26, Lane closures for electrical works.

M1, from 8pm February 7 to 6am February 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 26 to junction 27, Lane closures for electrical works.

M1, from 8pm February 10 to 6am February 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound and southbound, junction 28 to junction 29, Lane closures for drainage works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
