Bassetlaw road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Bassetlaw's motorists will have 10 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Bassetlaw's motorists will have 10 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A1, from 8pm December 8 2023 to 6am February 21 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, North Muskham to Apleyhead, slip road, lane and lay-by closures for barrier repairs, diversion via national highways and local authority network.

A1, from 8pm February 15 to 6am February 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, West Drayton to Elkesley, Lane closures for electrical works.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A1(M), from 9pm February 19 to 5am February 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M northbound, junction 34 to junction 35, Lane closure for general cleaning and maintenance.

A1, from 8pm February 22 to 5am February 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1 northbound, Markham Moor, slip road closure for electrical works, diversion via National Highways network and local authority network.

M1, from 8pm February 22 to 5am February 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 30 to junction 29a, Lane closure due to maintenance works.

A1, from 8pm February 23 to 5am February 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, Markham Moor, slip road and lane closures for electrical works, diversion route via National Highways network and local authority network.

A1, from 8pm February 26 to 5am February 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1 southbound, Elkesley, slip road and lane closures for electrical works, diversion route via National Highways network and local authority network.

A1, from 9.30am February 27 to 4.30pm February 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, Markham Moor, Verge works and speed restriction due to works on behalf on Anglian Water.

A1, from 8pm February 27 to 6am February 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, Blyth to Ranby, slip road and lane closures for signage works, diversion route via National Highways network and local authority network.

A1(M), from 8pm March 4 to 5am March 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M northbound and southbound, junction 34 to junction 35, Lane closure for technology works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
