New dates have been added for guided walking tours around Watson Fothergill’s most famous Nottingham buildings

Those on the tours will hear the fascinating stories behind Fothergill’s iconic city centre designs, including the Nottingham Express offices and Queen’s Chambers.

Tour guide, and local historian Lucy Brouwer, will talk through Fothergill’s signature style and the influence of Gothic architecture on his designs. 

New dates have been added for Sunday, May 12, Saturday, May 18, and Sunday, May 26.

Born in Mansfield in 1841, Fothergill would go on to become one of the most revered architects of the Victorian era. 

Throughout his 35-year career in Nottingham, Fothergill designed more than 100 buildings in the city.

Many of his distinctive Gothic revival and Old English vernacular designs still exist today. 

All tours start outside the Nottingham Tourism Centre on Smithy Row.

Those on the tours will walk approximately 2km and are asked to wear footwear appropriate for city walking.
