Here are the times the Irish entertainment will play at Nottingham’s annual St Patrick’s Day event.

The annual St Patrick’s Day event returns to Nottingham’s city centre, where a range of Irish live music and culture will be celebrated on stage. St Patrick’s Day commemorates the death of St Patrick and celebrates Irish culture in general.

Whether you’re a Nottingham local or travelling into the city to celebrate with friends and family, you’ll find a range of activities taking place. If you head to Old Market Square, you’ll hear Irish and Irish-inspired live music from the Elaine Marren Memorial Stage.

No matter what parts of Irish culture you’re interested in, there’s something for everyone at the event. From the Louie Walsh band to Irish dance performances, the whole family is sure to be entertained.

When is the event?

The event will take place on St Patrick’s Day, which is on Friday, March 17. The schedule of activities start at 11.30am and will finish by 4.30pm.

Luckily for families heading to the city centre, the event is free. Whether you’re Irish or not, it’s the perfect time to delve into the music, dance and culture with friends and family.

What time are the bands playing?

If you’re a fan of the Louie Walsh Band, you’re in luck as the band will play in the morning and the afternoon. Kelly’s Heroes, a popular Celtic folk band based in Nottingham, will be the final act before closing.

  • 12.30pm - Formal opening preparation begins
  • 1pm - Welcome, speeches and official opening
  • 1.20pm - Claire Regan Academy of Irish Dance

  • 2.25pm - Louie Walsh Band
