A huge new children's inflatable obstacle course is set to open in Nottinghamshire, it has been announced.

X-Treme Air will bring a Total Wipeout-style experience and soft-play fun to Studio 3 at the Rushcliffe Arena in West Bridgford.

Rushcliffe Borough Council, which owns the site, said the new attraction will offer "super slides, slaloms, a host of games and obstacles" when it opens on Saturday, December 2.

Cllr Jonathan Wheeler, the authority's portfolio holder for transformation, leisure and wellbeing said trials for the inflatable arena "sold out within minutes" and had attracted a "huge interest in bookings".

Priced at £8 per session per person, the course will initially be available for bookings on Saturdays at 2pm and 3.15pm and Sundays at 10am, 11.5am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.15pm.

Birthday party packages are set to launch on Sundays in 2024, the council added.

Socks must be worn at all times and parents and guardians can join youngsters on the obstacles or use a large viewing area, with free parking and an on-site café also available.

Cllr Wheeler added: "This is a brilliant new feature at Rushcliffe Arena and lots of fun for all ages. Investing in and exploring different features at our leisure sites is vital so we can offer residents contemporary new and different ways to look after their health and wellbeing."

Debbie Porter, Rushcliffe Arena Centre Manager, said: "The response has been wonderful. We just advise to book early to avoid disappointment as we anticipate the course will be very popular for a long time to come."
