Organisers Saul Morgan and Laura Wood, have promised an afternoon of lip-synching mayhem, amazing live vocals, proper laughs, killer choreography, and post-show disco courtesy of Groovebox and Sanctuary resident DJ Cookii Shakes. The pair worked together on the Groovebox Pride Event at Binks Yard and are now keen to introduce more LGBTQ+ events to the city regularly.

Saul Morgan, who has also worked on projects with Jessie Ware and Idris Elba, commented: “The response we got to the Pride event was overwhelming and it got us thinking that there was a market for large-scale events and entertainment for Nottingham and the East Midlands Queer community, so I got on the phone to a few of my contacts and Shablam! Here it is!”

It is hoped that Shablam! on Sundays will become a regular fixture in the calendar as part of a suite of events created specifically for the East Midlands Queer community.

Other upcoming events include Groovebox Nottingham Pride @ Binks Yard on the 27th July with Gok Wan, H from Steps , and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’s Tomara Thomas.
