Flying Scotsman tour: How you can ride on the Flying Scotsman just 1 hour away from Nottingham this month

A limited number of tickets are still available

One of the world’s most famous steam trains will be offering rides within an hour’s drive of Nottingham over the next few weeks.

The iconic Flying Scotsman will be running at the Nene Valley Railway near Peterborough over the next three weekends.

Enthusiasts will have the rare chance to ride the Scotsman between Wansford and Yarwell until March 9.

There are still tickets available for rides on February 22, February 23, March 2 and March 8.

This will be the first time the locomotive has hauled passenger trains since 2023.

With the Nene Valley Railway just over an hour’s drive from Nottingham, this represents a perfect opportunity for Notts enthusiasts to see the iconic steam train in person.

The Scotsman’s arrival in Peterborough will mark 200 years since the start of the British railways.
