BirminghamWorld was invited to the pre-launch on Friday, May 9, 2025. We enjoyed a sneak peek into what music fans can expect, with our video giving an exciting snapshot into the incredible music talent set to wow Birmingham.

Late at night, Downstairs At The Grand will take over Isaac’s, the restaurant nestled within The Grand Hotel, paying homage to the secret bustle of historical speakeasies hiding within existing businesses.

It will open on Friday, May 16, from 10pm until 2am; thereafter, it will host a series of live jazz sessions on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays making it the ultimate weekend for jazz fans.

While enjoying the late-night captivating performances, guests can enjoy classic and innovative cocktails such as Old Fashioneds, Paris Rouge and Negronis, and a selection of fine wines and fizz.

There is something rather magical about sipping on well crafted cocktails while listening to live jazz, we can heartily recommend the Old Fashioned, and if you fancy a twist on a classic, ask for a Rum Old Fashioned instead.

The late-night food menu will include charcuterie boards, artisan cheese boards, small plates and sourdough pizzas, plus sweet options.

The impressive line-up of artists includes Tom Seals, a top boogie-woogie and blues pianist and vocalist who has supported artists such as Jools Holland, Jamie Cullum, and Gregory Porter.

Part of the fabulous line-up is Dino Baptiste, a highly energetic pianist, vocalist and entertainer known for his dynamic performances.

Also taking the stage is Chris ‘Beebe’ Aldridge.

The inaugural performer on opening night is Joe Spinoza, a cohort of the celebrated Birmingham Conservatoire.

Guests will be delighted by a musical range, from sultry bossa nova covers to Rat Pack classics and popular soulful tunes.

Here are upcoming performances and residencies for 2025. Please check with the venue prior to travelling to account for any change in schedule.
