Nottingham Panthers write emotional message after player dies in car accident

The Nottingham Panthers are devastated to report that their forward Mike Hammond has passed away.
Hammond played for the Ice Hockey club last season and tragically died on Wednesday, July 19 in a car accident in Shawnigan, Canada. The Panthers would send their thoughts to Mike's family and friends at this very difficult time.

Hide AdGiving a statement, Nottingham Panthers said: “Our thoughts too are with all his former team-mates and everyone at the club is thinking of Hammy and his family right now.
“Rest in peace Mike - you will never be forgotten.”
Hammond was a Great Britain international and joined the Panthers last summer from German side Hannover Scorpions. He was well-known all across the Elite League, first coming to the UK in 2016-17 to play for Braehead Clan.
‘The forward also spent two seasons with Manchester Storm and iced for Coventry Blaze in the Elite Series during the covid pandemic.’
