Notts County's automatic promotion hopes took another dent after a 3-1 defeat at home to Salford.

It leaves the Magpies four points adrift of Walsall, with Doncaster having a game in hand and the chance to stretch the gap on the top three to six points.

But County need to first of all wrap up their play-off spot with eight-placed Colchester now just three points adrift.
