Notts County's away ticket allocation at Chesterfield explained

The Spireites and the Magpies have clashed many times over recent years in the National League, with some thrilling encounters at both grounds.
Notts took the bragging rights last time out in the 2023 play-off final, winning on penalties at Wembley after an enthralling 2-2 draw after extra-time. But thankfully the Blues followed them into League Two a year later and now the sides are ready to renew their rivalry.

This week Notts confirmed they have been given a ticket allocation of 999, which will have been no surprise to Chesterfield supporters, but has shocked the Magpies, who would normally get around 1,800.
Although County fans may think they have done it to be petty, as everyone of a Spireites persuasion will know, it is actually because Chesterfield have sold season tickets behind the net in the North Stand, which means away followings have been moved to the end two blocks in the East Stand.
In the EFL, clubs have to give visiting supporters at least 10% of the stadium capacity, which is the reason for the 999 allocation, meaning Chesterfield have done nothing wrong.

Hide AdTown’s return to League Two has caught the imagination of the fanbase, with a record number of season tickets sold, around 5,500, and their two home matches so far have seen crowds of 9,262 and 8,335 come through the turnstiles.
Notts fans have since been reacting to the smaller ticket allocation on social media. @Turkey_Twizzler wrote: “If that’s the way they are doing it, limit them to the same amount when they come here.”
@ncfckeats posted: “Give em 500 when they come to us.”
@mrcuthers added: That's a pathetic allocation. I'd like to think we'll return the favour when they visit.”
