Nottingham Forest face an incredibly-stern test on Friday night as they take on Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.
Under the lights at the City Ground, you can expect fireworks as the race for Premier League survival intensifies. Following an up-turn in fortunes for teams below them and some poor results of their own, the big question is whether Forest can use the electric City Ground atmosphere to propel them away from the relegation zone.
Ahead of another important fixture, here is what we think Cooper’s starting XI will be. Forest have a number of injury concerns for the fixture which will limit Cooper’s selection thinking while.
See our predicted XI below...
1. Keylor Navas
The Costa Rican has already had a couple of huge moments at the City Ground and is likely to retain his place in Cooper’s side.
2. Renan Lodi
Lodi has been a consistent presence throughout a tumultuous season. The Atletico loanee has
battled through some knocks and is first choice for Cooper every time.
3. Joe Worrall
A difficult one to call with Moussa Niakhate returning. Although Worrall has been found lacking in some games this season, he has also played very well at times. Regardless of form, he has led the team with integrity and pride. Let’s hope tonight is a positive one for Mr Nottingham Forest.
4. Felipe
Nights under the lights at the City Ground often produce memorable matches and Felipe has an important role in keeping out a Newcastle side eyeing a Champions League spot. He has already asserted himself as a nailed on starter.
