New Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo will begin his reign at the City Ground with a win against AFC Bournemouth, according to Opta’s supercomputer.

Each week Opta, the Premier League’s official statistics provider, crunches the numbers and predicts the results for that gameweek.

This week’s predictions make for pretty reading for Forest fans, with the supercomputer a 41.8% chance of a home win, compared to a 29% chance of an away win.

A win on Saturday (December 23) would give Forest their first three points since November 5.

It’s been a turbulent week for the club, with Steve Cooper dismissed on Tuesday (December 19) and immediately replaced by Espirito Santo.

Previewing the visit of Bournemouth, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss said: “It's going to be tough.

“They're a good team, they have improved a lot recently, so we expect a tough game, but we're at The City Ground and our fans are going to be very important. We want to play good and compete.”

The Welshman guided Forest to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years and kept the club in the top flight last season.

The Reds are five points clear of the relegation zone, although Luton Town have a game in hand.

Espirito Santo’s men will also face Newcastle United and Manchester United over the festive period.
