Excitement is building as Nottingham Forest fans gear up for the team’s highly anticipated clash with Liverpool.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side are third in the table and are the only Premier League squad to beat Liverpool this season.
With predictions ranging from cautious optimism to bold claims of victory, the buzz among supporters reflects their growing belief in the team’s potential this season.
The team’s unexpected rise to third after match week 20 has been nothing short of extraordinary, showcasing their resilience and determination.
Tuesday’s match (January 14) is being hosted by Nottingham Forest at 8pm at City Ground stadium.
For one fan, Tuesday’s match against Liverpool feels pivotal. “As a Forest fan, you think the run’s going to end at some point,” they said. “But if you’ve already beaten them at their place, who knows?”
Another fan saw a draw as a realistic outcome, adding: “There’s a chance they’ll win, but I reckon a draw would be a decent result. It’s possible they’ll go all the way. There’s definitely a chance of Champions League.”
Luca Price and Bill Marsden were more confident: “Oh, easy, easy! 2-0. Elanga and CHO [Callum Hudson-Odoi].”
As for the league, they added, “I want to say second, but I think maybe third. Champions League place.”
Gemma and Hadley offered a more cautious outlook. Hadley predicted a narrow 2-1 loss but emphasized the new manager’s positive impact, saying, “He’s really brought all the players together.”
The Chamberlain family expressed confidence in Forest’s chances: “I think we’ll be the only team to double them this year. Liverpool are having a little bit of a dip… I think it’ll be 2-1 to Forest or 1-0.”
Albert and Kobby believe in an upset. “I want us to get at least a draw, I want us to cause an upset, and we can. We’ve got the players. Elanga, Hudson-Odoi, Chris Wood, Gibbs-White - they all need to start. It’s possible we can win the league.”
David Strickland expressed cautious optimism. “I’m nervous. I don’t want to say ‘Manager of the Month Curse,’ but last time we won that, we lost to Fulham and Arsenal. Liverpool are probably more nervous than us. If we turn up and perform, we can beat them, but I’d take a point right now. If we beat Liverpool, we have to be considered title contenders.”
With the Forest faithful rallying behind their team, Tuesday’s match promises to be a thrilling showdown. Whether cautious or confident, fans are united in their hope for another memorable performance.
Tuesday's game will be broadcast live on TNT Sport for supporters in the UK.
The match will also be available to watch via local Premier League TV rights holders in countries outside of the United Kingdom.
