Willian is reportedly undergoing a medical with Nottingham Forest as he looks set to leave London after just one season with Fulham.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea player arrived at Craven Cottage on a one-year deal last summer and was offered a new contract at the end of the campaign.

However, he does not appear to be taking that option up with BBC Sport reporting he underwent a medical on Thursday ahead of a proposed switch to the City Ground.

The deal offered to Willian last month was said to be worth £50,000-per-week and was a one-year contract with the option for another season, according to the London Evening Standard. Last week reports claimed Willian was set to remain at Fulham after being offered an improved deal worth £100,000.

However, the Press Association have also reported Willian’s presence at the Forest training ground ahead of a possible move.

He will become the club’s second signing of the summer after Chris Wood’s move from Newcastle United was made permanent after he joined on loan in January before activating the relevant clauses to make the switch permanent.

Willian scored five goals and provided six assists in 30 appearances in all competitions for Fulham last season and has also played for Chelsea and Arsenal during his time in England.

He first arrived in the Premier League with the Blues and went on to play 339 times for the club, scoring 63 goals and providing 62 assists. He won the Premier League twice, the FA Cup in 2018 and the Europa League in 2019.

Willian spent seven years at Stamford Bridge between 2013 and 2020 before leaving the club for Arsenal, as he penned a three-year deal at the Emirates Stadium in August 2020.

However, he returned to former club Corinthians 12 months later after 37 Arsenal appearances. He scored one goal and provided seven assists during his time with the Gunners.

Forest made 30 signings last season as they secured survival in the Premier League in their first top-flight campaign since 1998-99.
