Forest’s fight for survival doesn’t get any easier as Cooper’s side travel to Anfield to face a Liverpool side fresh off a six goal battering of Leeds United.
Although results have been poor for the Reds as of late, this Premier League season has had plenty of upsets, most notably with Forest taking all the spoils in the reverse fixture at The City Ground.
They were minutes away from taking home all the spoils if it wasn’t for a spirited comeback from the title hopefuls, who scored two late goals to salvage a point at The Emirates.
With sides like Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Wolves having an upturn in form, now is the time for Forest to follow suit and pick up some point, regardless of how steep that challenge might be.
Ahead of today’s fixture, which will see the travelling Garibaldi faithful honour the 97 lives lost at Hillsborough with a ‘no to tragedy chanting’ plea, our reporter Max Scott takes a look at the potential stating side for Cooper’s Reds.
1. Keylor Navas (GK)
Played a blinder against United and kept Forest within reach for much of the game. With Salah and Jota in form, he’s going to have to continue that form.
2. Renan Lodi (LWB)
Played solidly in his return to the starting XI against Manchester United, following time out after the birth of his child and a slight knock. Will need to provide more going forward if Forest are to threaten Alisson.
3. Scott McKenna (CB)
Slotted back into the side following a lengthy injury layoff. Can be dangerous for Forest in set pieces – if corners and freekicks are accurate today, could the Scot make a difference on the scoresheet?
4. Felipe (CB)
Yet to get a victory in a Forest shirt, Felipe has been a touch of class on the grass. Deserves to be apart of a Forest side that avoid relegation. Most reliable and consistent player for Cooper since his shock arrival.
